Terex Vectra Equipment (P) Limited Terex Vectra Equipment (P) Limited is a new entrant to the Indian market in the construction equipment market. Terex Vectra is a 50:50 joint venture between Terex Corporation, USA and Vectra Limited, UK. The joint venture company hopes to capture 10% of the backhoe loader market in India over the next few years. The Company was setup in May, 2004 with a world class manufacturing Greenfield facility at Greater Noida with an initial investment of 12 million USD. The company manufactures and sells construction equipments like backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, vibratory compactors and midi excavators to Indian consumers. Since 2004, the company has already sold about 325 units of backhoe loader and is in the process of reaching the 400 unit mark by the end of 2006. In the backhoe sector of construction equipment market of India, Terex Vectra is already a front runner to the top position. The company plans to target the skid steer market in India. thereby, providing an indigenous and cost effective alternative to the imported versions. Exports as whole are being made mainly to the SAARC countries. Skid steer loaders are exported to Nepal and Middle east. The company is targeting markets in USA, Canada, Indonesia and the Far East. The company's product range includes: Eighteen to 82-seater single and double decker buses, Vestibule buses, Haulage vehicles in capacities ranging from 7.5 to 49 tonnes, Diesel engines for industrial, marine and genset applications. Tatra Vectra Motors Limited Tatra Vectra Motors Limited (TVML) is a joint venture between Tatra a.s. of Czech Republic (a part of Terex corporation, USA) and the Vectra Group. The manufacturing plant is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu and is a fully integrated plant having facilities like engine assembly and testing plant, a cabin welding shop, a frame fabrication shop and a test track. The company was setup in July 1997 and is an ISO 9000 certified manufacturer. Tatra trucks are based on the unique "Tatra Design" that features a spine tube frame with a covered central tube carrying the drive line and independently swinging half-axles. Vectra Azad Engineering Private Limited Vectra Azad is a joint venture between Vectra Group, UK and the Azad Group, India for the manufacture of automotive superstructures such as truck bodies and cabins for the Indian and export markets. The company is located at Bangalore and is an Original Equipment Manufacturer supplier of high quality truck bodies to Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, Ashok Leyland and BEML.
